Producing your own design is an exciting and potentially rewarding form of art. In the fashion design course, you will learn how to translate your artistic concepts into actual garments or accessories that can be shown and worn. You will the learn the basic skills of draping, cutting, basic pattern-making, construction and fabric selection. These are essential for the sewing of a finished garment. This is a "hands on" course in which you will gain the experience and information needed to get started in this exciting field. At the end of the course, you will be required to exhibit your designs in one of DMFA's bi-annual fashion shows.
