COURSES OFFERED:

-FASHION ILLUSTRATION 101:
Fashion Figure Drawing, Live Model Drawing, Mood Boards

Whether entering a fashion design school, making a presentation to a client or refining your own designs, illustrations are an essential tool for communicating your ideas and fashion concepts to others. In this course you will:

  • Learn to create detailed sketches and finished illustrations of your designs
  • Learn how to make a convincing proposal to potential clients and others
  • Receive assistance in building your fashion line portfolio

Fashion Illustration is also being rediscovered as a medium for advertising due to it's unique visual and artistic look. Best of all, your original illustrations can become works of art, to be treasured by you and your family for generations to come!

-FASHION DESIGN 101:

In this course you will begin to build your collection of fashion designs, that will be exhibited in our biannual student fashion show! After several quarters, you will have a collection of 12 to 24 pieces for your portfolio!

You will learn:

  • How to sew, from the basics to more advanced sewing techniques
  • How to drape fabrics on a dress form
  • The elements of Couture Design, how to design with style and elegance, and how to turn your designs into a very well made, fine art piece that stands out
  • How to make basic patterns from your designs, so you can always reproduce them

You will also gain an invaluable knowledge of fabrics. You will be able to identify different fabrics, know how they fall, and how they will flow when a model is walking in them.
